Highlands and Islands List

26 March 2011

The Scottish Christian Party has submitted its list of candidates for the forth-coming Holyrood election.

There are eight candidates drawn from across the Region, from Shetland, Stornoway and Skye to represent the islands, to the Highlands mainland centre in Inverness.

The candidates on the Regional List are:

1. Dr Donald Boyd, Inverness
2. Isobel Macleod, Skye
3. Alasdair Mackenzie, Stornoway
4. Alasdair Moodie, Inverness
5. Andrew Shearer, Shetland
6. David Forbes, Dingwall
7. Barry Cormack, Wick
8. Donald John Morrison, Inverness

Dr Donald Boyd will also contest the
Inverness and Nairn constituency.  This new constituency also includes parts of Badenoch and Strathspey. The boundaries have been re-drawn.  Formerly Inverness was divided in two by the river Ness but now the whole of Inverness is in the new constituency.  All Invernessians now have the opportunity to vote for Donald as their candidate for the Scottish Parliament, both on the constituency ballot paper and on the Regional ballot paper.

If you wish to help in the campaign, anywhere in Highlands and Islands, get in touch with Donald on 01463 796952 or email him by clicking here.

Donald is also the Leader of the Scottish Christian Party since Oct 2010.  He was the campaign manager in the Highlands and Islands in the 2007 Scottish Parliamentary Election when the Scottish Christian Party came from nowhere and overtook ten established Parties in its first contesting the Highlands and Islands Region.

The Scottish Christian Party has been consistently third in the Western Isles, ahead of the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, with 12.5% of the vote.

Donald stood in the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey constituency in the General Election in May 2010 and his leaflet on that occasion can be downloaded here.
