Donald thanks his supporters

10 May 2010

The Christian Party, which fought 70 constituencies in the UK General Election, has had its best national result in the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey constituency where Dr Donald Boyd polled 835 votes. 61 candidates stood in England, eight in Wales and one in Scotland.

Donald said: “I would like to thank those electors in Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey who put their trust in my ability to articulate the Christian Voice and Vision in public life in order to restore Christian values in the political scene. The Scottish Christian Party has emerged as the most credible of the minor parties in this constituency, and we have come from a standing start to overtake the Green Party and UKIP. In the Holyrood election in 2007 the Greens beat us, but we have now overtaken them to position the Scottish Christian Party at the top of the minor parties chasing the four major parties.”

Dr Boyd hopes to have a feed-back meeting in Inverness in early June to thank his supporters and to explain to them where the Christian Voice goes from here.  Those who are interested in attending can contact him on 01463 796952. Details will be posted here in due course, D.V., in the local press and on Christians Together.

At the Election Count in the Sports Centre, Inverness, Donald thanks his supporters on behalf of the Scottish Christian Party at 5:00 on this short clipping.
