A Rallying Call

8 May 2010

The national breakdown of results shows that the Christian Party is 10th in the Scottish figures, 10th in the English figures, 8th in the Welsh figures and 17th in the UK figures.

In Scotland we stood in only one constituency and yet with 835 votes we came 10th in a national poll.

This should encourage Christians that we may be able to roll this out further. If ten Christians in each constituency would put up £50 each (or 50 Christians with £10 each), we could stand with a Christian Voice in all 59 constituencies. If we get our act together, and if we are seen to do so, I hope we could repeat this performance over Scotland. Using rock bottom figures of 100 in each constituency, we may reach 6000 Christians throughout Scotland, and if we are seen to be working together we could possibly repeat the 800 figure in each constituency, about 48,000. So let us set a target of 50,000 Christians in Scotland. This would build a national platform or bridgehead. When the disciples were a small number among a vast multitude, Jesus encouraged them: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” Luke 12:1,32. Advising them “seek not what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after” Christians are to have other priorities: “But rather seek the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you” Luke 12:29-31.

Let us continue to pray: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” Mat 6:10.
